I was deeply disappointed reading the ethnic
jokes-cum-slurs on your site. I will admit to having a few
laughs as well - I'm not immune to vulgar humor and hating
that sob bin laden. I've lost friends and have worked to
support the recovery effort.
However, as a (Shiite) Muslim myself, I've also tried hard
over the past few weeks to dispel some of the popular but
untrue notions about Muslims that many Americans (and
Canadians) espouse, simply out of lack of exposure. It is
very hard to see monsters commit some of the most heinous,
heartbreaking crimes the world has ever seen, while
erroneously claiming to do so in the name of Islam,
completely bastardizing the religion that I (and millions
of other true Muslims) hold dear. Between grief and anger,
it is easy to let emotion take over. But the jokes on your
site do not represent, I don't think, what is in the hearts
of most Americans. We need to foster a mutual understanding
and tolerance, not petty (but still hurtful) insults.

Your web site is nice, but I'm troubled by some of the jokes on it. Many seem to paint Afghanistan (the bin-Laden, Canadian, and Uncle Same joke) or Arabic culture in general (the 'dictionary definition' of Arabia) as enemies of America. Please don't forget that Arabs are not the enemy. Muslims and others of Arabic ancestry and culture have made enormous contributions to the United States, and Arab-Americans were just as heartbroken as the most patriotic white American by the Sept 11 attacks. Afghans in particular are oppressed by an illegitimate government that they, in general, do not support. In these times, we must all be careful to avoid using too broad a brush in describing our enemies.

hey i like the web page. you have a nice collection
of cartoons. but i must say that i think you should
consider taking your "Pisslam" picture off. the
reason i say this is that there is no reason for
Americans to put down Islam, when most Muslims will
tell you that Osama is not following Islam by killing
innocent people. it's not a religious thing, but he
is trying to make it one. let's not let him win.
it's osama's dumb logic that is against the USA, not
the religion of Islam. please consider removing that
picutre. thanks

i stumbled on your website
almostaproverb.com
and i saw a disturbing cartoon which features calvin from calvin n hobbes shown
peeing on a 'star and crescent moon' ( the symbol of islam)
Im a muslim and just to let u know the symbol holds the same reverence for muslims as does a Cross for a christian. Now Im really sad and upset of whatever happened on Sept 11th. But this cartoon is not helping in mending hearts. Its infact creating a deeper separation between the ppl of this nation. Which is the goal of the terrorist. So in a way you are facilitating thier motive. I am no one to judge your intentions and actions BUT i am a muslim. And this cartoon disrespects my religion and faith.

I kindly request you to take this cartoon (in specific)and any other material you have (in general) that disrespects islam OFF YOUR WEBSITE.

O.K. lets break some things down:

1) this country is on the highest alert for terrorist activity

2) you insult Islam, which is a religion, many liberal minded individuals' belief system.

3) in your numerous websites , you have many pictures of yourself, your husband, your mother, the location of your father's grave. You have a picture of where you live, where you work. You even have your old license plate up and pictures of people you associate with. <<<--- are you insane? hehehe. I mean seriously. It's as if you are inviting someone to end your stupidity.

I am a very liberal, and open-minded person and can calmly evaluate your comments, but will not tolerate them. I have written this e-mail to do only 2 things:
1) recommend that you remove disrespectful content about the religion ISLAM
2) make you realize that there is a differentiation between the religion itself and the people who try to represent it.

You have called "Arabic" a dead and practically garbage language. This language I hope to inform you has strong religious depth to it. Insulting it for millions of millions of millions of individuals is stronger than insulting them directly. If you are a Jew, it's as if someone calls Hebrew a dead and worthless language, even though the prophet Moses received the 10 commandments from The Almighty himself which were written in it.

Overall, I'm sorry to say, but you are a very naive person. Learn about the world before you present your propaganda irrationally.
